From a Spiritan Seminarist to an Entrepreneur in Kampala

About six years ago, Chrispin Lutalo had a dream of becoming an entrepreneur. At 35 years now, Lutalo is making money out of garbage business in Kampala, Uganda.

The idea of starting a waste management business came in when he left Spiritan seminary in Nairobi in 2006. With patience, self discipline and creativity, Lutalo started his garbage collection in July 2010 on the streets of Kampala with 3 clients only.

Lutalo had to travel within and outside Uganda selling his business idea. At a showcase in Rwanda, and latter in Belgium and Netherlands, Lutalo has managed to convince investors of  the viability of his garbage business in Kampala. His creativity, hard work will see his business growing in Uganda.

Today, Waste Masters Limited employs 16 people has 3 trucks for collecting garbage. From 3 clients at the beginning of his business, the company is now serving more than 800 clients in Kampala city.
